Used Gift Wrap

My kid had a birthday two months ago and I thought it would be fun to scan in the used gift wrap.  So, I saved the gift wrap and never got around to doing more than one scan.  This morning, the gift wrap was put into the recycling and I am admitting that I don't have time to scan items.  However, I did scan one piece (and fix the rips), so I am making it available for people to use.

In other news, I am considering different file sharing services.  Recently 4shared has been blacklisted as a malicious site by my firewall.  This is making it very difficult for me to upload to 4shared.  Before I buy a paid account, I am having a look at some other file sharing services.  I am currently debating between Megaupload and Mediafire (but not Rapidshare, because I hate Rapidshare).  I will also consider other services.  Do people have opinions about which file sharing service is better or suggestions of different ones?  Or, should I stay with 4shared?

  1. Hi Spencer :)

thanks for **all** the great shares... love the wide variety of goodies you offer so freely...

to me, MEDIAFIRE is the best of those you listed, more user friendly, without long wait times to download ~.~

also, I used to be subscribed to get your POST updates, but these days, all I get is last item posted 1 year ago, but nothing new for several weeks now :(

  2. I like Mediafire because I can download immediately and don't mind closing a couple of windows. I'm with you on Rapidshare. I don't know why anyone would use it. Box.net seems good - immediate download- but only used it a few times.

  3. Dear Anonymous,

I am sorry, but I cannot help you with the POST updates. The feed appears to be working because I can see all the latest posts when I inspect the ATOM feed. I have not changed my feed settings since beginning this blog. Therefore my only suggestion is to unsubscribe and then re-subscribe as it is possible that Google has changed something recently.

  4. Hmmm I have not had any trouble with 4shared triggering anything with my firewall or anything. But...thanks for the heads up on that! I have heard good things about Megaupload. For whatever that is worth. LOL

  8. Hi
I just came across this post and thought I would give my opinion on the file sharing subject. First, Thank you for sharing such awesome creations and showing us how to do these things ourselves. I use PSP and have found so many of your tuts to be so helpful.
On to file sharing...I have a 4Shared premium account. With the premium account you get to download their desktop app which makes uploading very easy. You just open the app, pick the items you want to upload and that's it. Super easy. Once you log into 4Shared online, your files are there plus when you want to share something, you have the option of sharing a direct download link or the link that they would wait a few seconds for...nowhere near the wait for the free accounts. I've checked most other sharing sites and 4Shared definately gives you more for the money.

  9. I use MediaFire all the time... I'm not sure if they're going to impose limits any time in the future, but right now they're better than the others I've come across... MegaUpload had this wonky period of time where they didn't have any limits either, but I think that might have been a mistake (which they've fixed since then).
So my vote is for MediaFire.

  10. I forgot to mention that MediaFire doesn't have any wait times to the best of my knowledge; there's an abundance of sneaky ads and that sort of stupidity but between no wait time and allowing multiple parallel downloads I think I'll live.
